“Wallenberg in Lithuania” is a performance by Mattias Hellberg inspired by the Swedish celebration day “Skvalborg“, which is one of the pre-party days leading up to the grand festivity «Valborg». Skvalborg happen to coincide with Lithuania’s St. George’s Day on April 28th. The performance draws from the tradition of costumes and drunken dancing observed during “Skvalborg“. One specific costume portrays the Swedish oligarch Jacob Wallenberg, who holds substantial stakes in Swedish industries and the stock market, as well Lithuania’s largest bank, the SEB bank. As performed during the original «Skvalborg», the participants throws egg at this evil spirit, which have come to plague Lithuania for ever more.
