Installation in one of the toilets at the art academy in Oslo. 2017.
Fontaine de merde was my contribution to a show curated by my professor Felix Gmelin in the toilets at the art academy in Oslo. The show was made without the schools maintenance department’s (Drift) approval and my installation sparked a conflict between them and Felix. Felix did an installation in the toilet next to mine with all the emails that he received from the Drift department complaining about my contribution to the exhibition. The title is a combination of Piero Manzoni’s work ”Merde d’artiste” and Duchamps ”Fontaine”, the later one being a prime example of a refused work, an abject.
